Unbelievable - Chris Brown To Be Arrested By Ghana Police

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Cephas Arthur has reiterated the police willingness to arrest American musician, Chris Brown. According to him, even though he has returned to his country, the law which is no respecter of a person can go for him and deal with him accordingly; that is, if investigations prove that he was indeed smoking marijuana. The singer courted controversy when he was seen smoking weed live on stage during the ‘Hope City Concert‘ at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium on March 5. Many have questioned why the police didn’t do anything about it since it is against the laws of Ghana.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM’s news 6pm Monday, DSP Cephas Arthur, the Director of Public Affairs at the police headquarters said Ghanaians should not be surprised that the police service is determined to get to the bottom of the issue and to arrest Chris Brown in the US if found guilty of the section 5 of the Narcotic drug, control, enforcement and sanction act of 1990. “We are in a global village and due to technological advancement and laws all over, no matter where he is; whether Ghana or America, the law can deal with him if found culpable. We pare investigating the use of narcotic drugs which can be found in section 5 of Narcotic drug control enforcement and sanction act of 1990, PNDC law 236 which states: a person shall not without lawful authority or excuse smoke, sniff, consume, inject. into the body or otherwise, administer a narcotic drug on the body of that person; and so he can be arrested based on that…” he indicated.
