Food To Avoid To Prevent Oily Skin

Am sure we have come across the phrase "You are what You eat"? Whether you like it or not your diet will reflect on your skin. If you eat healthy food, you will look healthy. If you eat junk food, you won't be looking good. There are food you need to avoid to keep your oily skin tamed. Numerous factors contribute to oily skin but people with oily skin are more prone to acne or pimples if proper precautions are not attended to. This article will help you get on the right track of skin care, because it is not all about using creams and products (both organic and non-organic); the most basic skin care begins by eating right. so below are listed the types of food to avoid to prevent oily skin:

Avoid Fatty Meats
Fatty meats, such as beef, lamb, bacon and sausage, contain rich amounts of saturated fat -- a fat-form linked with obesity, heart disease and inflammation. You should avoid too much of on fatty meats and try to increasing the amount of fresh fish which in turn gives you a healthier and normalized skin. If you want to get the best of the cold-water fish benefit, you should prepare the fish using low-fat cooking methods, such as baking, broiling and poaching.

Avoid too much of Enriched Flour
Enriched flour is formed through a process in which a whole grain is stripped of much of its nutrient and fiber content. As a result, enriched breads, cereals, pasta and baked goods digest less efficiently and have a higher glycemic index, or impact on your blood sugar, than whole grains. Although research is ongoing, investigative findings show a positive link between a low glycemic diet and reduced instances of acne, according to a "Skin Therapy Letter" report published in 2010. By lowering your "glycemic load," your hormone levels may improve, leading to reduced oil production. For best results, choose whole grains, such as barley, brown rice and oats, instead of enriched flour products most often.

Added Sugars
Added sugars, such as maltose, dextrose, corn syrup, cane sugar and honey, add sweet flavor and calories but few nutrients to many foods and beverages. Like enriched flour, added sugars have a high glycemic index and may offset your blood sugar and hormone levels, leading to increased oil production and a heightened risk for acne. Limit foods and beverages particularly rich in added sugars, such as regular soft drinks, fruit punch, candy, jam, jelly, pancake syrup, frozen desserts and commercially baked cookies, cakes, pies and pastries. Choose fresh fruits and vegetables more often, which have a more positive impact on your blood sugar, skin and overall health. Citrus fruits, apricots, carrots and spinach, for example, contain vitamin A -- a nutrient with properties similar to certain acne medications.

Avoid Salty Snack Foods
Most people require 1,500 mg of sodium per day -- the amount reaped from less than 1 tsp. of table salt. A high-sodium diet can also damage skin health, by increasing inflammation. Salty snack foods, such as potato chips, crackers and french fries, often contain an inflammatory fat form known as trans-fat. Trans-fat may also worsen the effects of oily skin. Healthier snack options include air-popped popcorn seasoned with natural herbs, fresh cut vegetables and low-sodium, whole-grain crackers.

FIVE NATURAL AND EXTREMELY COST EFFECTIVE WAYS TO SLOW DOWN THEPROCESSOF AGING

The process of aging is natural and it isn’t something you can stop from happening. As you age, your skin starts to lose its moistness and become more prone to damage. However, there are many natural ways available to slow down the ageing process and look young and fresh.

I will be sharing with us  five natural and extremely cost effective ways to slow down the process of ageing.

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
The human body is made up of 60% water and day-to-day routines deplete this valuable resource which needs to be replenished. Drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water every day. Having adequate water content in the body will keep your internal organs hydrated as well as in good working condition. Even the doctors most times recommend this.

Additionally, it’ll help your actual skin look flexible, vibrant and supple by keeping it hydrated and flushing out wastes from the body.

REDUCE STRESS
Every person has stress in their life; the only solution is learning to manage it well. Researches reveal that mental stress speeds up the ageing process. When you’re stressed out, you lose the body’s natural balance which in turn causes damage to bodily hormone secretion, cell-repair, and collagen generation. There are many ways for you to reduce the mental stress.

GET A FRUIT FACIAL
Make your own facial mask with fruit. You can start by smearing some papaya mix on your face. The fruit enzyme, called papain, exfoliates dried-out skin and reduces melanin deposition. You can also rub squashed banana to aid in regeneration of collagen.

Natural aloe-vera is yet another best homemade anti-aging skin care solution which you can use to get rid of facial lines, wrinkles and slow down ageing naturally. This all-natural anti-ageing skin care ingredient is of course soothing and healing, and is effective when combined with other remedies as well.

Other fruit products that are good for a facial are cucumber, watermelon and lemon.

EXERCISE REGULARLY
Exercise is apparently an integral and unavoidable step in any skincare regimen. Physical exercise will help maintain muscle-tone and flexibility and also improve overall health and fitness, Regular exercise also improved the rate of heart beat, hence help protect against heart problems, and help you stay look and feel younger. For me i try sit up and various u-tube aerobic exercises on a daily basis. Funny thing is I even carry weight, not for the muscularity effect, but to tone my biceps and under arms. Looking at me one will ever guess am in my thirties.

As i was saying, Exercise will also enhance the blood flow throughout the body which can even help keep your brain fit. Going for walks is an excellent cardio-vascular activity and is proved to be life-extending, this is mostly advisable during the summer, or early morning since the winter is getting near.

FOLLOW A HEALTHY DIET
A healthy diet is not as expensive as most of us assume it to be. You should stick to a well- balanced diet plan with the majority of your foods being vegetables and fruit. The fruits and vegetables provide your body with vital anti- oxidants that fight free-radicals which are a contributing factor to age-related illness and diseases.

Eating healthily will help you look and feel better and provide you with tons of energy in order to do all those stuffs you loved to do.

3 Essential Beauty Products That Exposes the Skin to Cancer

Are you a beauty product freak that easily goes for any product, once you hear it is ‘good’ and it works? Just how much time do you take out to read the ingredients on a product case before you make the purchase? Wake-up! There is something you need to know.

Do you know that your body absorbs almost 60% of the ingredients of any of the skin care products you use! Having known this years back, I constantly observes that most of the body products I use are made from natural products extracts, like honey, olive oil, turmeric. I will sharing in a couple of weeks essentially home made beauty products that Nourishes and makes the skin glows.

On this note, i will be sharing with us the 3 main culprits in your beauty products that expose you to the risk of breast cancer and other health risk

PARABENS
Parabens are preservatives that increase a products shelf life. Almost every skin care product seems to have this.

Parabens can cause breast cancer since they can mimic the hormone estrogen and get easily absorbed into our blood stream. According to a study conducted by the Journal of Applied Toxicology, low dose levels of parabens were found in all the 40 samples of breast tissue that were taken from recent mastectomies.  The most common types of parabens are
Methylparaben and propylparaben and are found in lotions, deodorants, creams, and ointments.

ALUMINIUM
Yes, your skincare product can contain aluminum.

Aluminum is found mostly in deodorants and antiperspirants. This metal also mimics estrogen and gets easily absorbed by the skin. Aluminum is also a neurotoxin and since it is used so close to the breast, it greatly increases the risk of breast cancer.

 CETEARETH-20
Ceteareth-20 is a very common ingredient used in skin care products. You will find it mainly in emollients, moisturizers, cleansers, conditioners, exfoliants and acne creams amongst others. This chemical ingredient is contaminated with I,4- dioxane and Ethylene Oxide. Ethylene Oxide allows the skin emollient to spread uniformly and easily on the skins surface and also helps in binding all the other product ingredients together.

Both these chemicals are carcinogenic. especially Ethylene Oxide, which is a known breast carcinogen.

So next time you hit the cosmetic store and reach for well packaged and enticing looking beauty products, take a few seconds out to read what they are made of.

SALT SCRUB: After you take a shower or bath, and while your skin is still wet, pour salt onto your hands and rub it gently on arms and legs. A salt massage will exfoliate dead skin cells.

SKIN STEAMER: To open up pores before exfoliating skin, bring 1/3 cup sea salt to a boil in a small pan of water. Transfer to a bowl, take a seat, and hold your face over the steam for 10 minutes.

Weekend Trillz: Want To Enhance Your Bum? Here are 6 Workouts You CanDo While You Study- Yes, Study!

We all know the value of time. We’re all juggling different combinations of classes, extracurricular actives, internships and part-time jobs while attempting to maintain some semblance of a social life.

When we finally have a moment to spare, climbing into bed is probably a lot more enticing than lacing up and heading out for a run. Luckily, there’s good news for all you multitasking, overachieving collegiettes out there: there are ways to break a sweat and build muscle while you catch up on your chem reading. With these six moves, you’ll be deskercising with the pros.

1. The Glute Squeeze

The glute squeeze is one of the most inconspicuous exercises, which means that you can do it pretty much anywhere—in your room while reading a textbook, in the library while going over flashcards or in the classroom while taking notes. To do this exercise, mimic the squeezing motion shown in the image above while seated. Wherever you’re sitting, just squeeze your gluteal muscles as hard as you can and hold the contraction for 10 seconds. Relax briefly. Repeat 10 to 20 times to work on filling out your fave booty shorts while you go over your flashcards.

2. Chair Squat

Typing a paper but still trying to keep your legs and butt looking tight and lean? Try this chair squat move, which works all the major muscle groups in the lower body and, as a bonus, activates your core and raises your heart rate, helping you torch major calories during those all night essay-writing sessions. While typing, stand in front of your desk with your feet flat on the floor. Keeping your back as straight as possible, press your weight into your heels and squat down until your butt hovers just above the seat of your chair. Hold for five to 10 seconds then sit back down. Repeat 10-20 times.

3. Abdominal Lift

Staring at your computer screen for hours might help you memorize the notes you took in class, but it’s not doing all that much for your abs. Try this difficult abdominal lift to strengthen and tone your core. While seated, put your hands on the seat of your desk chair. If your chair has arms, you can place your hands on the arms for an easier variation. Keeping your knees bent, press your weight into your palms and lift your butt off the seat while keeping your arms straight. Lifting your knees as high as you can will help in toning your lower abs. Stay above the seat for a few seconds (up to 10) and then slowly sit back down. Repeat two to four times. Keep your eyes on your notes or textbook to keep this tough move study- friendly.

4. Oblique Swivel

Swiveling desk chairs are pretty cool not only because you can spin around in them when you’re bored, but also because they’re an amazing piece of workout equipment in disguise for those of us who like to get our sweat on outside the gym. Next time you’re just fooling around and spinning, open a textbook on your desk and get your study on with these controlled oblique swivels. Sitting up straight with your back against the chair. Put your feet together and lift them off the floor as high as you can. Hold the edge of your desk tightly enough to stabilize yourself. Using your core (primarily your obliques), swivel from left to right as your read. Repeat 10 to 20 times

5. Trapezius Squeeze

Summer might be leaving us, but tube top season will eventually return, and when it does, you’ll be ready! This simple move tones your upper back and stretches your chest—a must for those of us who spend a lot of our days hunched over textbooks and computers. Sit upright with arms spread out to either side. Bend arms at 90 degrees so fingers are pointing forward. Pull your elbows back and pinch your shoulder blades together, pretending you’re trying to hold a pencil between them. Hold for five seconds, then release. Repeat 10-20 times. This move is perfect for flashcard users; instead of keeping your fingers pointing forward, pick up a flashcard with one hand and hold it in front of your face to read it. Squeeze while you try to figure out the answer and release once you flip over the card. Switch hands.

6. Water Bottle Bicep Curl

Slit-sleeve tops are all the rage this season, and the best accessory to the killer summer tan you’ll be showing off is toned arms. Use water bottles (or canned foods, or any other available weight you can grip in each hand) to work your biceps at your desk. Sitting up straight, hold your weights at your sides, palms facing in and arms straight. With your elbows pressed to your side, raise your weights and rotate your forearms until your palms are facing your body. Slowly lower weights to original position and repeat for 10-20 repetitions. Make sure to keep your book open on your desk and flip pages in between reps. Being a busy collegiette doesn’t mean that your health has to suffer!

By incorporating some of these deskercises into your routine, you’ll be keeping yourself fit—and maybe even giving yourself the energy to finish that chapter in your textbook. It’s a win-win!
