LOVE HAS GONE SOUR.

It was love at first sight, after branching at a well, thirsty from a pursuit from the father’s house, though guilty and worthy of death, but still in this awkward situation, a damsel, who could have thought?

Not to bore you with too much details, this love was so strong that in less than a month he has sought for her father’s permission to “pluck the flower in  his garden”, like they say it here in Nigeria. But in their custom, nothing is free, theirs is worse than the 100 strokes of the cane on the groom’s bare back observed by the Fulani tribe of the West Africa.

No amount of price can make him turn back at this point, so he served for 84 full weeks with no pay, in the livestock department of his father in law’s company. On top babe! Abeg! But he did.

At last, the wedding day, day dreaming of how that moment will be. He has waited 2556 (two thousand five hundred and fifty-six) days for that moment, not aware of his father in law’s plan to help the bride’s elder sister. Let me tell you something about the bride’s sister, she is got weak and dull looking eyes. I guess she has never been approached by a man before and there seems to be no hope.

The celebration could not start until evening, like 7 hours behind schedule. All this was part of the father’s plan. It was a talk of the town with the entire neighborhood in attendance, there was eating and drinking but all these did not seem to make meaning to him, his mind was in the prepared chamber, where his damsel awaits him.

After it was all said and done, he was cheered into the  chamber. For whatever reason, no light was provided to illuminate the room, could it be part of tradition? I am sure if you are this long-awaited husband to be, lantern won’t cross your mind, beholding the figure laying on the bed before him. ****************************************************************************************************

I apologize for that, the details of what happened in those dark hours was censored out.

Now it is morning, our guy was awoken by the warmth his wife’s flesh on his. On opening his eyes, the first thing that came to his mind was “what kind of dream is this, why will I be dreaming of being in bed naked with my wife’s sister after such a wonderful night with the one I love” his thought was interrupted by her voice “you were great last night”.

He is back to reality, the wrong woman is in bed. He has been deceived fully aided by the pitch black darkness. LOVE HAS GONE SOUR.

Ok! This is where I will stop. This is a true life story for those of you still doubting its possibility. It happened a very long while ago though.

Hope you enjoy!

Thankful Monday :)

I have been playing with this idea for a while, been ruminating over it every now and then. Thankful Monday.. .nothing too serious...rather more light hearted. You know those everyday things that we probably think we don't need to be thankful for but rather nonchalantly tend to ignore, worrying about whats less important. Losing confident in one self because you might not be able to meet your expectation. Have you ever wondered that each one has a race, our inability not to meet up shouldn't hinder the fact that we need to be thankful.

Over time I have discovered there is no absolute finish line for everyone in the race of life. Our tracks are different and our durations are different.

The only thing we have in common is the same empire. For instance, one person graduates @ age 20 and struggles for another 5 years to get a job, another might graduate @ 25 and get a job immediately.

One can marry a virgin and wait for the next decade to have the blessings of children, another lady probably after having series of abortions in her past, becomes a mother almost immediately after marriage.

A fellow becomes MD @ 38 and dies @ 56, another becomes MD @ 55 and lives to 90. What a life! Life is full of twists, turns, ups and downs and many more surprises and disappointments.

Life offers each one of us different opportunities and once an opportunity is lost, it's gone forever except by the grace of God. It is up to each one of us to patiently prepare, wait, recognise and utilise every opportunity. We learn on the way. No one knows it all or has it better. There is a reason why we all don't fall @ the same time. It's so that when one is down, weak and discouraged, the other who is strong, can encourage and lift the other person.

God never promised that the road would be easy but he promised never to leave nor forsake us. Although life is a competition, let us learn to go easy on ourselves and trust that God is working it all out for good (even if it doesn't make sense now). I know that there is a time for everything but most importantly that " it will come to pass ". Whatever trials, challenges or down time , this too shall pass and in due course, u will be up and strong again to lift up those who maybe down around u......NEVER LOSE HOPE! #bosydeprincessa

I hope you have a splendid day as you take our time to dwell on this as you go around your busy schedule today.

Thank You All!
