Wife of Nigeria’s president, Patience Jonathan, added one more Honorary Doctorate degree to her gallery after a South Korean University honoured her.

It is Mrs. Jonathan’s fourth doctorate since becoming Nigeria’s First Lady. The awarding institution, Hansei University, said they honoured Mrs. Jonathan because she had worked “hard for many good causes.

”“I was just doing my own thing not knowing that in far away Asia everything was being noted. I want to assure you all that with God’s help I will do more.

”My grandma used to say: `Whatever little you have, share; If you have a thousand and you can’t share, you won’t share a million if you have’. Mrs. Jonathan said, thanking the Koreans.

“She’s a humanitarian who has dedicated her life to working for the less privileged in Nigeria and Africa especially for women and children,” president and Chancellor of Hansei University, Sung-Hae Kim said.

”Her vision as the defender of the poor in Nigeria fits into Hansei University’s motto of a practising Christian. Now she’s part of our community,” Prof. Kim added.

The university also said it chose her for the degree because of her dedication to prayer.

”I was surprised that she travelled here for the Church Growth International conference years back to pray for Nigeria. For her selfless work, Hansei University confers this degree on her,” Yonggi Cho, co-founder of the Hansei University.

Getting Wealth Through Forex!

The young Lad of inspirational mind owner and visionary of Jani Forex ( Graham Ingokho), spoke to me about a couple of advantages that's in forex which lots of people do not know about.

According to him he says it will be his pride and honor knowing that young men and women will be able to get wealth through forex thereby empowering themselves and indirectly employer of themselves.

When ask how easy it is to get into forex, "it says its quite easy only that people ain't quite educated and because of lack of information available, most people fear of going into it". He says one need only to open two accounts namely: The Nordfx account and any online payment account  (a safe escrow account).

He further emphases that, forex is an easy to learn and remarkably straightforward. You only need the right guidance and good trading condition.

To achieve this, the Jani Forex syllabus has put in place a hands-on training opportunity (mainly as a seminar) with tested and proven strategies that gets the novice trader from a passing understanding of the market to being a conditioned money manager.

The venue and date for the seminar will be announce soon, so keep updated on our blog for more information.

Pad Thai: Thai style Noodle Stir Fry!

Preparing Pad Thai sauce: For 2 servings. I have actually made this to make easy step by step follow for everyone to learn. Anyone who use to think Pad Thai is a complicated dish (like I thought before I actually try to make it), would be surprise themselves of how amazing it turns out, and most importantly very cheap to make. Like i said, this recipe is for serving 2, just the right amount to cook for you and your love...

2 Big tbsp. of palm sugar
3 tbsp. concentrated tamarind juice
3 tbsp. fish sauce
2 tbsp. oyster sauce

Ingredients to cook the noodle:
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 tbsp. minced shallot
1 tbsp. minced garlic
2 tbsp. cut yellow tofu
1 tbsp. sweet radish (minced)
2 handful thin noodle if you can’t find the specific one, just use any noodle, mung bean noodle is also good. (Soak the noodle in regular water for 2 hours)

2 eggs
1 handful of a garlic-like vegetable >>> garlic Chives/ Chinese Chives.
10 big shrimps (peeled, De-veined and cooked)

Final Decoration:

1 handful bean sprouts
1 tsp. dried red chili powder
2 tbsp. roasted peanut (crushed)
1 tsp. sugar
4-5 branches of Uuicnri leaves/ garlic Chives/ Chinese Chives.
1 piece of sliced lime

Yellow tofu

                                                            Uuicnri leaves

Cooking Steps:

 1. Heat the pan and add palm sugar, fish sauce, tamarind juice, oyster sauce and a little bit of water. Now used medium or low heat to let the sauce boiled and get thick. Keep stirring. Make sure you don’t burn the sauce. Gold pad Thai is good pad Thai. Be careful, it will be bitter if you put max heat and burn it.

2. Taste the sauce and make it the way you like. Some people love it more sweet and some just love it a little more salty but the trick of Pad Thai sauce is the well-balance of 3 tastes, sweetness, sourness and saltiness. So change it the way you like. If you like it sweet, keep the taste the way it is will be right taste for you. However, my trick is to add some Maggi soy sauce to make it more salty as my husband love it that way.

3. When the sauce get thick enough, remove from the cooker.

Next, we will cook the pad Thai noodles.

1. In a different pan, heat the pan and add vegetable oil. When the pan is hot, add garlic and shallot Fry until it has aromatic smell.

2. Next, add tofu and sweet radish.

3. Now, add noodle and 4 tbsp of the sauce we made from earlier. (that’s for 1 serving). You can keep adding the sauce of the amount of the noodle is more than one handful. Make sure you don’t add too much because the noodle will be too wet and overcook. (add it little by little) Then, make a quick stir.

You may want to pick the noodle and taste it to see if your noodle is cooked right.

4. If you like bean sprouts and the sliced garlic Chives/ Chinese Chives to be cooked, add it in this step.

5. Push the noodle aside. Add the egg and cook it until it is half way done then mix it with the noodle. Now add shrimps and mix.

6. Turn off the fire. Arrange the noodle on a plate. Put dried chili pepper, sugar, roasted peanut, fresh bean sprouts, one piece of lemon and the garlic Chives/ Chinese Chives on a side.

However, another option for Pad Thai, make an omelet from duck’s eggs. Make it as thin and as big as possible. Put the noodle in the middle of the omelet.

Fold four sides then put another plate on top. Turn it upside down. Decorate it with bean sprouts, the genus Allium or scallion, dried chili powder, sugar, peanut, and one piece of lemon.

Hope you enjoy it, try it and let me know how it turns out for you.

Man Eats up His Own Daughter Alive (Papua New Guinea)

A report said Friday that a Papua New Guinea (PNG) man described as a vampire has been arrested after allegedly murdering his young daughter by biting her neck, eating her flesh and drinking her blood.

Police called the horrific occurrence that took place on Wednesday at a settlement near Lae “an act of cannibalism”.

Local councillor John Kenny, who was one of the first on the scene, was quoted as saying the three-year-old child and her mother were visiting the father when he grabbed the girl and ran off into nearby bushes.

The man is said to have held the toddler close to him, bit deep into her neck, ate the flesh and sucked her blood.

Two boys who happened to be climbing a coconut tree nearby saw him and ran quickly to raise the alarm.

Kenny revealed further: “He was just laughing at the boys and continued eating the flesh and sucking the blood.

The boys were scared and ran quickly to alert the people.” The man reportedly dumped the body in the bushes and ran away when people arrived to investigate. He was however caught and turned over to police.

Papua New Guinea is a sprawling nation where black magic, sorcery and cannibalism sometimes occur. Dozens of people linked to an alleged cannibal cult were arrested last year. They were accused of killing at least seven people, eating their brains raw and making soup from their penises.

Several other recent cases linked to cults, witchcraft and cannibalism have been reported, with a man in 2011 reportedly found eating his screaming, newborn son during a sorcery initiation ceremony.

What a world, if na naija you all know what they will say...mouth sealed!

(The love for Art!) The young Lad who can Draw Almost Everything

Majored in Graphic Design for a good 4 years and earned his Bachelor Degree, he started off his professional career on few companies.

Then on the year 2010, he decided to depart as a full fledge illustrator. Most of his works are widely influenced by American and Japanese artists.
Focusing towards sketches, portrait sketches is his main style as seen on most of his works. Using the beauty that god creates on female faces, he tries to play around with it in order to capture the message of emotions and of course beauty throughout his illustrations.

His works are considered mysterious especially on the poses he illustrates, sending out soft and pure captivating messages. Flowing gestures that also gives the illustration itself a beautifully drawn life-like emotions. Looking through his portfolio really got me inspired...I told him to make a portrait of me and am waiting to see how it turns out...giggling (don't worry will share it with you all when It's delivered)

How To Make Milo Muffins

Gather your ingredients for Milo muffins

These Milo muffins should be great for school lunch boxes, with an apple, juice, tea, coffee and water.

Ingredients For Milo Muffins
Get organized by measuring them in advance.

Add your butter and sugar to your mixing bowl and mix till light and fluffy.

Should look like this.

Some left over milk chocolate ( really tiny) was melted and added to the mixture. It's not necessary so you can skip this.

Mix

Add your eggs one at a time (your eggs should be at room temperature, if it isn't, drop them in a bowl of warm water and allow to sit for 5 to 10 minutes)

Add the oil and yoghurt or sour cream; you don't want to skip this, it makes it reeeeeeeeallyyyyy moist ( I used yoghurt)

Mix together your dry ingredients

Use a whisk, it'll help make it light

Add the dry ingredients to the wet in three batches

Mix till just combined, don't be tempted to over mix

When the third batch of the dry ingredients are mixed in, it'll look and feel like mousse.

Spoon into your lined muffin tins. You can pour directly into a greased tin as well.

Ready to go into the oven at 350 for 25 mins.  Keep checking after the first 20 mins. When a toothpick inserted comes out clean, it's done.

Sprinkle with some more of that delicious milo and devour! it's so moist and light that even after leaving one in the fridge over night, it still felt lovely and gooey!

Enjoy the treat!

How important is Education to the Girl Child!

In the lead up to the International Day of the Girl Child, UNICEF will be publishing a series of stories highlighting innovations for girls’ education around the globe. Today, 11 October, is set aside as the International Day of the Girl Child.

We believe that when girls get the education they deserve, they can contribute to the wellbeing of their communities in amazing ways.

Smart and creative use of technology is one route to overcoming gender barriers to girls’ learning and achievement. But innovation in partnerships, policies, resource utilization, community mobilisation , and most of all, the engagement of girls and young people themselves, can be important catalyzing forces.

Bangladesh - Mitali Rai, 15 talks about her experiences at a Child Friendly Space (CFS) at her home in Kalinogor, Kamarkhola. She is partially deaf and is embarrassed to go to school, but she she feels comfortable in the CFS.

UNICEF and its partners in all regions of the world are leading the way in innovative projects to accelerate progress for girls, particularly the most marginalized.  Countries are exploring new education delivery systems and infrastructures, transforming curriculum to promote gender-sensitive pedagogy, and finding new ways to engage both traditional and non-traditional partners.

iSupport... Educate the girl child, we build a better world!

First Class graduate shot dead after trying to stop a Policeman from beating his girlfriend!

A 30-year old first class graduate of Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Moses Muritala Aminu, has been shot dead by a policeman.

The victim had left his 67, Ahmadu Ahijo Street, Narayi-Highcost family residence last week Sunday full of life for a party at Barnawa , Kaduna, but could not return home as he was killed by a police constable.

His friend and eyewitness told P.M.NEWS this morning that the police constable identified as Alex Okpe was beating up his girlfriend outside the venue of the party and when Murtala tried to intervene, he got angry and pulled out his gun from his jeans trousers and fired straight into his heart.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to P.M.NEWS under anonymity,  after Murtala was shot dead, the police constable then fired again in the air twice to scare the people around and escaped on his motorcycle.

Moses Andrew, a friend who was with Muri, as he was popularly called, at the Time Out Lounge party venue in Barnawa, narrated that there was pandemonium after Muri was shot and Okpe, the policeman, had escaped . “We were confused while trying to revive Muri, when a guy informed us that he knows a friend to Okpe’s girlfriend that had left the party for a club called X-One at Barnawa,”

Andrew said.
According to him, they quickly moved to X- One and fortunately met her there. “We picked the lady who identified the policeman who killed Muri as Alex Okpe, and that he serves at Kakuri Police Station but deployed to guard Nigerian Brewries Plc.,” Andrew added.

P.M.NEWS learnt that the killer policeman was later tracked down and arrested by officers from Barnawa  Police Division after the case was reported there. Kaduna State Police Commissioner, Femi Adenaike, who confirmed the incident to P.M.NEWS, said it was true Alex Okpe was arrested and during interrogation confessed to have killed Murtala Aminu at a party venue. Adenaike said Okpe claimed in his statement that he fired at Muri in “self defence” when he and his friends were trying fight him over his girlfriend. He said the police didn’t send Okpe to Barnawa at that time and if he is found guilty, he would be dismissed and taken to court for trial. “The suspect is in the cell and we have commenced investigation. And if he is found  guilty, we will give him an in-house trial and summary dismissal so that he can face the law for homicide,” the state police boss said.

The blind father of the late Muritala, Mohammed Jimoh, told journalists at press conference at their High-Cost residence that as a Muslim he’s taught to accept the death of his son and bread winner as an act of God. But he said if his son had to die, it should not be in the hands of a policeman who should have been responsible for protecting him.
“Yes my son , a first class economist for that matter and our hope, is dead, but I want justice done in this case,”

Aminu said. Until Murtala Aminu’s death, he was the youth leader, Catholic Holy Family Church, Barnawa. He also owned a shawamar and roasted fish outlet at Narayi-Highcost.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace!

Men Who Deliberately Try To Acquire HIV Through Unprotected Sex With HIV Positive People!

Experts have warned about a new craze in which men are secretly seeking and spreading HIV. The reckless practice, known as bug chasing, started in the US as a bizarre means of getting  sexual excitement from risk-taking.

Now, hundreds of men are introducing themselves on online forums, Facebook groups and Twitter. They meet up and try to transmit the potentially life threatening virus.

The men who want the virus are called “bug chasers,” and the men who freely give the virus to them are called “gift givers.” To bug chasers, HIV isn’t a ruthless killer. HIV-infected semen is treated like liquid gold. It’s a gift – the most beautiful a man can willingly receive – spread through a secret breeding ground.

Some bug-chasers actually claim the virus gives them a better quality of life because of the medication they subsequently have to take.

Nick, 30, an admin worker from the Midlands, said: I feel fit as a fiddle. I feel full of energy and healthier as a result of being on my medication. I don’t regret the sex I had or becoming HIV. The only downside of contracting the virus is it took some of the excitement away.”. Nick claims he has had unprotected sex with more than 1,000 men, including many he knew were HIV positive, in his quest for the virus.

When Nick was first diagnosed, he wrote on Facebook: Tested positive on 21st September and totally loving it! Wanna share with any chasers, CD4 is 971, VL 100,000 – nice and toxic!”

CD4 refers to his white blood cell count while VL is the “viral load”, which indicates how likely a carrier is to pass the virus on. VL 100,000 is extremely high. Since his diagnosis, Nick claims to have had unprotected sex with 20 men. I have faced a lot of vitriol on my blog,” he said. “But I just think that as it’s between two consenting adults, it’s no one else’s business. If you brought me a person I had infected and sat them in front of me I would probably feel some guilt over it if they hadn’t been educated about the risks. But all the people I have had sex with have made educated decisions.”

Another bug chase Carlos explained how much he wants HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. His eyes light up as he says that the actual moment of transmission, the instant he gets HIV, will be “the most erotic thing I can imagine.” I know what the risks are, and I know that putting myself in this situation is like putting a gun to my head,” he says. When asked whether he is prepared to live with HIV after that “erotic” moment, Carlos dismisses living with HIV as a minor annoyance.

Like most bug chasers, he has the impression that the virus just isn’t such a big deal anymore: It’s like living with diabetes. You take a few pills and get on with your life.” While the rest of the world fights the AIDS epidemic and most people fear HIV infection, this subculture celebrates the virus and eroticise it.

A US website which promotes meetings of bug- chasers and gift givers – those who are already HIV positive – has more than 5,000 members!

What a world we live in...to the ladies out there having unprotected sex...my advice watch it!

Breast Awareness Campaign

Sometimes ago i discussed issues related to how to guide against the breast sagging. Today, I would like to bring our  attention to a serious and very worthy cause that affects millions of women worldwide- Breast Cancer.

The month of October is  dedicated as the Breast Cancer awareness month.

Some notable organisations has come together with Sebeccly Cancer Care (www.sebecclycancercare.org) to raise awareness, educate, support and raise funds for women and their families battling with breast cancer in Nigeria.

It is safe to say that all of us know or knew of at least one woman who has been affected by this disease and for this reason I would like to plead for your assistance.

Am aware that there will be an open house sales at the Ikeja outlet of DealDey throughout the month of october, with doctors and medical personnel on ground to exam and educate on how to examine themselves as a method of early  prevention. Early detection and education of Breast Cancer is key in reducing the high mortality rate in Nigeria.

So help us spread the word and take your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters and friends on a lingerie shopping spree were you can make a difference no matter how small.

Thank you for your support.
